I've liked my time at Melville Intermediate. So far I've done some stuff that has amazed me like going to compete at St Paul's Collegiate for the Literacy Quiz. I did bone carving with Matua Peter for options. I did a lot of good and wonderful things. We wrote scams, I did woodwork, magic and music. I went to the school social in term two and I liked all of it. At school it was hard work in bone carving, especially the sanding and the bone dust. We went every week and it made me learn a lot, like what safety gear that I needed to wear. It was awesome I loved every bit of it. Music was really good when I went on the bass guitar and the piano.
This recount is by Deighton, a student from Room Five and is a recount about the events that took place during term two of 2012.

Melville Intermediate Vs. John Paul College
On Friday 15th June Melville Intermediate Schools Girls Basketball team travelled to Rotorua for the Kaitoa Middle School Invitational Basketball Tournament. Following a single point loss to hosts Kaitoa Middle School first, Melville then defeated two local Rotorua schools Kura te Koutu and Mokoia School. Due to the nature of the draw there was a straight final (congratulations to Kaitoa Middle School who defeated Matamata Intermediate 34-14) and that meat Melville were playing off for 3rd/4th against John Paul College. Melville are in their traditional red/green tops, JPC are in black, white and red.

Melville Intermediate - Jamie's Monkey Bars
Jamie's use of the monkey bars has been created using Photostory. It started as a piece of procedural writing in the classroom. Jamie had to come up with an activity that she could create the instructions for and then have someone take photographs of her carrying the activity out. The activity was then animated, transitions created and text added by using photostory. This is Jamie's work on using the Monkey Bars.
