Melville Intermediate - MIS Bands @ Deanwell School

The Melville Intermediate School Bands performed end of year concerts at Glenview Primary School and this week Deanwell Primary School.  Mr Bell took both our School Bands, Kustom and Yo Mama to perform a number of tracks.  This audio recording is of 'Kustom' performing 'We could have had it all' by Adele.  Recorded at Deanwell School on Wednesday 11/12/13.

Melville Intermediate - Kyla sings 'Army'

Melville Intermediate - School Rock Band 'Yo Mama'

Melville Intermediate has a proud tradition of success with our school rock bands, including last years School Band 'Unknown' winning of the Waikato Intermediate Pulse Battle of the Bands Competition.  This year we've got two bands who are currently performing at school events, Yo Mama is one, and this is their performance of the Guns N Roses song 'Sweet Child of Mine'.   Yo Mama performed it to a packed house at the School Talent Quest, Melvilles Got Talent on the evening of Wednesday 10th July 2013.  Filmed by Manish from Room Five, edited by the students of Room Five, Melville Intermediate School.

Melvile Intermediate - Makere and Wiremu 'Impossible'

On Wednesday 10th July 2013 Melville Intermediate School held their 2013 Talent Quest, 'Melville's Got Talent'.   This was held in our school hall during the evening.  There were a variety of acts performing on the night including some hugely talented musicians.  One of the outstanding performances was Wiremu and Makere from Room One who performed 'Impossible'.

Melville Intermediate - Unknown - Jakob + Mr Bell!

On Wednesday 14th August 2012 Melville Intermediate School held their information evening for 2013 students.  As part of the entertainment the Melville Intermediate School Pulse (Waikato Intermediate level Schools Battle of the Bands) winning 'Unknown' performed - however this was in a slightly different format from usual, as it was without Jakob and had the addition of Mr Bell on Drums as a stand in.  The performance was really well received by the audience and once again the students did themselves proud.

Melville Intermediate - Unknown at School Assembly

On Friday morning the Melville Intermediate School hold our school assembly.  This Friday just passed there was an opportunity for our students to see our Y8 school band perform, 'Unknown' (the school band) performed 'Perfect' which was originally a song by Fairground Attraction.  The same evening the school participated in the Waikato  Intermediate Battle of the Bands competition, which Mr Bell was able to attend.  Footage of the event will be uploaded this week.

Melville Intermediate - Pakuranga College Perform

This the final highlights video from the performance by Pakuranga College at the end of last term on June 26th.   The students from Pakuranga did an amazing job and held our students spell bound for the duration of the performance.  Well done to Mr Bell from Melville Intermediate School for making it possible.

Melville Intermediate - Prep 2011 Final Highlights

Later this term its PREP (Primary Enterprise Program) for Melville Intermediate School students and our famous market day.   The students of MIS will start preparing their businesses later in this term and what a better way to inspire the students than looking at our 2011 highlights, filmed at Melville Intermediate in September 2011 by Mr Bell our school music teacher.

Melville Intermediate - Pakuranga College Band Perform

We're heading into the last week of Term Two, 2012.  One of the special shows that took place this week was the Pakuranga College (from Auckland) band that came and put on a show Tuesday afternoon for Melville Intermediate School, organised by our music teacher, Mr Bell.  Students enjoyed the wonderful show, and Kobe, taking time out from playing Basketball was sitting at the back recording.

Melville Intermediate - Hamilton Talent Quest Finals

On Wednesday 4th April, the second to last day of School for students of Melville Intermediate School, the finals took place for the Waikato wide Intermediate School Talent Quest.   This featured two acts from Melville Intermediate School, Kayla singing Hallelujah and Carter and the Rock Band, this is their performance that night that won them the competition.  Filmed by Mr Bell on Wednesday 4th April 2012.

On Thursday 4th April 2012, the second to last day of School for the students of Melville Intermediate School, for term one, the two final acts performed at the Waikato Wide Intermediate Schools Talent Quest Show.   Carter performed with the School Rock Band the other act was Kyla from Room Twelve, this is her rendition of 'Hallelujah' as filmed on the night by Mr Bell our School Music Teacher.

Melville Intermediate - Singing in Room Five

At the moment we're very lucky to have Mr Bell going through the classrooms teaching singing to the Melville Intermediate School students.   Room Five are lucky enough to have in come in every Monday morning for half an hour.  Students are really enjoying the singing, and today Mr Webb recorded the session, this video are some of the highlights, including a touching rendition of 'I found a peanut' which is a song that remains popular with students at MIS.

Melville Intermediate - Showcase at Assembly Part 2

Melville Intermediate Assembly on Friday was an opportunity for Room One to showcase some of their talent.  At a days rehearsal (yes, really) two students were able to show their musical talent, with the assistance of Mr Bell on the Electric Guitar and perform the song 'Wipeout'.  Filmed on Friday 10th February 2012.

Melville Intermediate - Music Technology

One of the technologies available to Melville Intermediate School students is Music. After seven weeks of Music students assessment is to perform a musical piece as a band. Ave Maria - this is another performance from Melville's got talent on the 16th of September 2009 at the Melville Intermediate School Hall. The show was from 7pm to 9pm on the night and was a huge success. Thanks so much to all the performers and also to Mr Bell, our schools music teacher who did such a wonderful job off and on stage.
