Melville Intermediate - Mr Yardley Welcomes in 2013

School started for Melville Intermediate School this past Wednesday when we welcomed the students who will be part of our school for 2013.  As part of the Powhiri to welcome new students Mr Yardley, our Woodwork teacher, welcomed students by recognizing the contribution of the first European settlers to our area from Scotland, where the name Melville comes from.   Mr Yardley in addition to being a teacher at Melville Intermediate is also special as he was a foundation pupil at Melville Intermediate School from nearly fifty years ago.  Levi and Liam from Room Five went and filmed his performance on the school fields.

  1. Hi, it's Room 1 at Glenview School. We though that the video was very creative. Mr Yardley is very good at playing the bagpipes. We had a vote and 7 people liked the bagpipes, 4 people couldn't make up their minds and 9 people thought that the playing was very good, but they'd rather listen to a guitar.
