Melville Intermediate - School Worm Farms

On Friday 19th February 2010 a group of students learned from the vice principal Mrs Bleakan how to do a worm transfer. They got newspaper, food scraps and they got a hand full of soil and worms and sorted through it. the school uses the worms to make soil for the gardens and then we spread the mulch all over the garden.

  2. Hi, my name is Brittani and I am a student at the University of South Alabama. At the University I am in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. This class is all about technology in the classroom and the use of technology as a whole! I really enjoyed watching this video. I think filming is an awesome way to teach and learn! I really just feel like students get so much more out of hands on activities and I think it helps them understand more when they can actually do rather than just listen to lectures! I also have a blog where I keep up with various post and videos assigned to me in my EDM class. If you would like to see the comments I made about this blog and many others it can be found at milliganbrittaniedm310.blogspot.com

  6. I was really interested while watching your guys video. I'm from King City CA, my names Isaiah and I'm in Mr. Millers classroom. I've never tried doing this before! I knew worms helped soil but i haven't tried it. I now have something to experiment with. Have you guys personally tried doing this at home? If so what was the result? I love that you guys record videos to learn, it's fun to watch. I'd really appreciate it if you visited my blog. I am currently in the EduBlog challenge.
