Melville Intermediate - Were #1 Finally!

A special occasion has occurred today, we've been tracking since early in the year the position of our Maori Mihi video, which the students create at the start of each year at Melville Intermediate School.

Maori Mihi Tutorial from myles webb on Vimeo.

A Maori Mihi is a greeting to introduce yourself. In March this was right from the start one of the most viewed videos on our page. Today the video finally reached the '#1' spot for Google searches in New Zealand. A very proud moment, but also on the same day Room Eight scored their second #1 success as Maori Mihi Template, a slide show that we created in 2009 also finally went to '#1' on the Google Search Engine.

These are huge successes for Room Eight @ Melville Intermediate School and we will be sharing these with the students when we return to school next term, in little over a week.

  1. Hi Room Eight! Congratulations on your many successes--you have done so many fabulous things in your year together. We are just beginning to unfold the adventure of our year. Hope you had a relaxing break from school and are ready for the final push to December. Wishing you well!

  2. Wow! Congratulations :) I remember when I did a search for class blog and saw mine on the front page, I was very excited! What search term do you use? I would like to use it here in the US and see where you show up at.

  3. @ Mrs Smith - yes it is a relaxing break for our students, although not for the teacher! We've just had the change into Spring so our students are quite looking forward to the fourth term and our Christmas holidays!
@ Mr Chamberlain - You can try "Mihi Example" on Google Search, although there are also variations of it that come up.
