Melville Intermediate - Mrs Yollis Class teaches Room 8 Spanish!

Today in the classroom we spent a considerable amount of time viewing the following video form Mrs Yollis's wonderful classroom site in California, USA.  We are going to be looking at examples of online things that we can learn by looking at other classrooms, and Mrs Yollis has the sort of blog that you can learn so many things about.  The original video which Mrs Yollis' classroom produced and we used as a guide for the lesson was this:

Let's Learn Spanish! from mrsyollis on Vimeo.
We really enjoyed watching it (and I think that Mrs Yollis and her class showed so much expression, it helped us enjoy it!). So while we had PE last block we produced this video of some of our Room 8 students speaking Spanish...

Speaking Spanish from Mrs Yollis from myles webb on Vimeo.

  1. Dear Mr. Webb and class,

Mrs. Ranney and I just finished watching your video! ¡Es fantástico!

    ¡Muy bien, estudiantes! :-)

The more you practice, the better you become! We are perfecting our Spanish as well.

It is fun to learn from others! You really made our day!

    Your friends,
    Señora Yollis y Señora Ranney

  2. Dear Señor Webb and class,

¡Es fantástico! It was funny when we saw Mr. Webb in the reflection of the window at your school. Your Spanish was great because it sounded like your students had a Mexican accent. ¡Muy bien!

    Your amigos,
    Nick and Sam

  3. Dear Mr. Webb and class,

We enjoyed the video. Also, we noticed that you used some of the Spanish from our video. For example, "Hóla señorita," and the days of the week such as domíngo.

Remember, jueves is pronounced hwá vus. It was hard for us to learn, too!

  4. Dear Mr. Webb,

    ¡Hola amigos!

We really liked your Spanish video!

(Ben said) Earlier in the year, I took an Espanól class, but I can only remember numbers one to fifteen.

(Caleb said) When I was around 6 years old I took Espanól in kindergarten. I can only remember how to count to ten, but Ben just retaught me how to count to fifteen.

  5. @ Mrs Yollis and Classroom - we had a great time watching your video and even though its over the other side of the world, it was a great thing for us to learn but better to learn it from your wonderful, wonderful students.
