This is the footage of the CPA Boys Haka from Monday nights performance at the Founders Theatre. John did an amazing job of leading it! Sita from Room 2 wrote this report about the performance.
Students from Melville Intermediate performed on a Monday night. They were doing the opening ceremony for people receiving citizenship into Hamilton.
All day Friday we learnt new songs and a Haka then practised really hard. 27th April 2010 was the day of the performance and it came so fast. As we arrived at Founders Theatre we practised before the real performance. It was a time for the performance and I was really nervous. My friends Kaea, Shyniah and Raeana were nervous, scared, happy and a little bit cool. When we did the performance all my nerves dissappeared and it felt awesome. I was really proud of myself and all of the performers. I think John did really well leading the Maori Haka.
Kia Ora Boys,
ReplyDeleteA job well done on your haka. You all looked very confident. We all liked the way you were very strong and proud of your performance. We look forward to watching more of your wonderful performances.

What a great performance, well done boys.
ReplyDeleteThat is an inpiring performance - one to share with our younger kapa haka group that is just beginning to meet! I was wondering whether you would be able to share with us your group singing the National Anthem? We are particularly focussing on the maori version, pronunciation and parts and I think you guys would be fantastic older role models for these primary children...
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think.
@ Room 10, Mr Wood thanks for your positive feedback the students really appreciate it.
ReplyDelete@ Ms Bee we would LOVE to assist with this! You need to contact Mr Webb and we will set this up!
