Melville Intermediate - Tamaki Film Festival Entry
Today we selected students who will be staring in our Tamaki Online Film Festival effort. We looked at last years entries, the students they really like the 'Dancing Tamaki' video from St Pius X School and also 'Api's Hippo' from Little Voices, Little Scholars. We talked and brainstormed about our ideas for our movie which we've decided to call "Bailey and the Magic Cowbell". It will have Bailey in it, and will be filmed by Arahia. We talked about how we could incorperate our location into the filming. We planned the start of our script and also decided to consider our audience when producing our work. Tomorrow we will start shooting some key scenes and dialogue and then review it and see how it's structuring itself.

I am going to have a film festival of sorts with my digital media students in February or March. There has been some discussion online about creating an international film festival. As you know, I am a big fan of video and really like the idea of making a webspace for us to showcase our students movies.

We would love to be involved in that because we'd be back at school by then for the 2010 year and that would be a great way to start the year!
