Melville Intermediate - Service Assembly 2013

Today at Melville Intermediate School we held our 2013 Service Assembly, where we recognised outstanding service at Melville Intermediate School during the 2013 School Year.   A significant number of students were recognised and honoured for involvement in school activities  like Road Patrol, Enviro Agents, Leo Club, Sound Technicians and Canteen operators.   We also had awards for Melville Intermediate STARS in Silver and Gold, and the positive draw.  As part of the entertainment for the assembly we had a special performance by one of the Room Five students, Viliame performed 'Someone Like You' by Adele, although we posted the rehearsal only two days ago it was such an amazing performance this morning we had to show the full version now.  Amazing job and a very proud moment for everyone in Room Five.



We also had an another outstanding performance from a talented Melville Intermediate School student.  Kyla whose performance vidoes on this site always receive fantastic feedback accompained by Mr Bell, the Melville Intermediate School Music Teacher,  performed 'Army' by Stan Walker.

 

Melville Intermediate - Viliame 'Someone Like You'

This week Melville Intermediate School have the final school events for 2013 as our School ends this week.   We have two major assembly events taking place in the school on Thursday we have the Certificate Assembly for 2013 which recognises effort and help around our school.   The second major event is School Prize Giving for 2013.  This is taking place on Friday at 11:00am and will recognise excellent for the school year.  As part of the entertainment for the these events the students will have work showcased during the event.    One of the featured acts will be Viliame from Room Five who is accompained by Davy Grace from Room Twelve singing Adeles' 'Someone Like You'.   This video is footage of the rehearsal this week.

Melville Intermediate - Makere and Kyla @ Assembly

Today during school assembly we had two students singing as part of the promotion for tonights South H Town Talent Quest at the Glenview Community Centre.  This is a local talent quest which students are invited to audition for.  Melville Intermediate were thrilled that six of our students were selected for tonights finals.  We are hoping to have footage from those finals to put online later in the week.  In the meantime this is Makere and Kyla, who are both performing tonight with 'Wake Up'.  Edited and produced by Drustan and Dalanar.

Melville Intrermediate - Special Assembly Performances

These two videos are the other two acts from Melville Intermediates School Assembly on Friday 13th September.  The acts are performin next week locally.  This video is Trinity from Room One who is performing 'Titanium by David Guetta'.  She is assisted by Raven.

Melville Intermediate - Kyla Third Place Performance

We're nearing the end of our extensive highlights from our 2013 School Talent Show - Melvilles Got Talent and we're also nearing the end of the school holidays.  Our students will be returning to school on Monday 29th July for the start of our Term Three and we look forward to re-connecting with you and getting back in contact with you all then.

This performance is from Kyla from Room Twelve who gained third place in the competition for her efforts.  As with the other videos in this series they were filmed on the night of the show, Wednesday 10th July 2013, by Manish from Room Five.  Post production duties were handled by students in Room Five.

Melville Interemdiate - Trinitys MGT Winning Performance

This footage is from the School Talent Quest on Wednesday 10th July 2013 from the Melville Intermediate School Hall.  Its footage of the overall winner for 2013, Trinity from Room One who was sining a song from Hairspray - 'I know where I've been', which in the movie is sung by Queen Latifa.   Recorded by Manish from Room Five and edited by Jackie and Bianca from Room Five.

Melville Intermediate - School Ball 2012

One of the highlights of the year is the Melville Intermediate School Ball, held each year as a formal dance for the Y8 students, usually the second to last week of the year.  This year on arrival the students were serenaded by Y7 students, this video is footage of Makere singing, accompained by Mr Bell, the Melville Intermediate School Music Teacher.  Filmed outside the MIS gates on Thursday 13th December 2012.

Melville Intermediate - Singing in Room Five

At the moment we're very lucky to have Mr Bell going through the classrooms teaching singing to the Melville Intermediate School students.   Room Five are lucky enough to have in come in every Monday morning for half an hour.  Students are really enjoying the singing, and today Mr Webb recorded the session, this video are some of the highlights, including a touching rendition of 'I found a peanut' which is a song that remains popular with students at MIS.

This is the best individual act from Melvilles Got Talent, Summer singing "Crazier" it was filmed along with the other acts from the show last Wednesday night, 16th September 2009 at the Melville Intermediate School Hall here in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand.
