Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby against Tokoroa Intermediate 2013

On Tuesday 21st of May 2013 Melville Intermediate fielded a team in the 2013 Inter Intermediate Girls Rugby Competition.  We had the hardest possible test this year up first, a dominating team who would in time become the eventual champions, defeating Peachgrove Intermediate School in the final, the Girls from Tokoroa Intermediate School.

They blew Melville away in the first half, dominating forward play backed up by strong attacking from thier backs.  Tokora continued this throughout the tournament, remaining undefeated and were worthy champions for 2013.   These highlights were filmed by Kayla from Room Five.  Melville Intermediate are in the green with red trim.  Tokoroa are in the red.

Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby vs Berkley

On Tuesday 21st of May Melville Intermediate competed in the 2013 Waikato Inter Intermediate Girls Rugby Competition.  The competition featured eight different teams from the Waikato Region competing against each other in a ten a side competition.  The Girls all wore bare feet and there was no pushing in the scrums or lifting in the line outs.  The game against Berkley School was Melville's second, the highlights were filmed by Kayla from Room Five.  Melville are in the green with red trim and Berkley are in the blue and green jerseys.

Melville Intermediate - Inter Intermediate Girls Rugby 2013

On Tuesday 21st of May 2013 the Inter Intermediate Girls Rugby competition was held at Memorial Park in Cambridge.  Schools from through out the Waikato region competed in a field day.  Melville Intermediate fielded a girls team in the Open Grade (over 50kg competition).  After tough games against some top class opposition against Tokoroa Intermediate, Berkley Middle School and Morrinsville Intermediate Melville competed against Fairfield Intermediate for 7th and 8th place.  This was an incredibly close game, and these highlights were filmed by Kayla from Room Five.

Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby 2013

Tomorrow is the first day of School for Term Two, 2013.  One of the event that is taking place this term is the Waikato Intermediate Schools Inter-Intermediate Girls Rugby Competition.  Tomorrow in Room Five, we are having our first muster, however the tournament is next week in Cambridge.

To remind the players of whats required its time to look back at the highlights from last year... Melville Intermediate Girls had an amazing tournament losing only to once to Peachgrove Intermediate, which included wins against Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Maeroa, Fairfield and Tokoroa Intermediate.  A narrow loss in the final saw Melville second best result of the year.  This video, shot by Kayla from Room Five, is the highlights of the tournament, Melville Intermediates Schools best tries of the 2012 season.

Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby Vs. Maeroa

On Tuesday 8th May 2012 the Melville Intermediate School Girls Open Grade Rugby team played against Maeroa Intermediate in the Semi-Final of the 2012 Waikato Girls Inter Intermediate Competition.  This is highlights of that game filmed at Memorial Park, Cambridge by Veronica and Kayla from Room Five.  The game was incredibly close because a place in the 2012 final was at stake for the winner and the half time score was only 5-0 to Melville.  Melville are in the Green with red collars.  Maeroa are in the Blue/Red.

Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby Vs. Maeroa Intermediate

Our game against traditional rivals Maeroa Intermediate was a great game at the Inter-Intermediate Girls Rugby tournament.  It started off fantastically well for Melville with a try to Aaliyah and Melville (in the Green and Red Uniforms were able to hold that lead until half time).  In the second half Janice finished the scoring with a great effort on the right wing, although Maeroa (who are in the red and blue uniforms) had managed to score twice prior to that meaning the game was a 10-10 draw.   The wind was roaring during the game, the wind was lashing against the camera and Benita had to film fast and furious action.  Filmed at Memorial Park Cambridge on May 25th 2010.

Highlights of Melville Intermediate Schools second round game of Rugby at the Inter-Intermediate 2010 Girls Rugby Competition.  Filmed at Memorial Park, Cambridge by Benita from Room 8.  The weather for the day went from rain to wind, which came through on the recording! Despite that the students from Melville did themselves proud with a great effort against a top Fairfield team.  Fairfield are in the Blue and Yellow and Melville are in the Red and Green.

Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby Vs. Morrinsville Intermediate

On Tuesday we had the Inter-Intermediate Girls Rugby Tournament for the Waikato region.   Melville Intermediate had an Open Grade Team.  We had six games during the course of the day against Morrinsville Intermediate, Fairfield Intermedate, Maeroa Intermediate, Tokoroa Intermediate, Peachgrove Intermediate and Te Awamutu.  The students from Melville did wonderfully well, the weather held and the team played better and better with each game.   There's footage of each game that we will be posting over the next week and a bit starting with the game against Morrinsville Intermediate.  Congratulations to Morrinsville and Tokoroa who contested the final! Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby Highlights

Highlights of the first games of the 2009 Inter-Intermediate Rugby 2009, a brief glimpse of the Melville Intermediate vs Morrinsville Intermediate game, and highlights of the Maeroa Intermediate - Melville Intermediate second game of the tournament, includes a huge runaway try from Kendall who top scored on the day with 8 tries! Melville Intermediate - Girls Rugby Results

Today Melville Intermediate took part in the Inter-Intermediate Waikato Girls Rugby Competition. First up we played our friends at Morrinsville Intermediate - Melville started strongly taking a half time lead of 12-7 but Morrinsville dominated the second half winning the game 21-12. Next up Melville played against Maeroa Intermediate. A 15 all draw indicates how close that match was. Following this Melville had to play red hot tournament favourites Peachgrove Intermediate. Peachgrove won 26-0. Needing to dig deep to make the semi-finals Melville then had to play the undefeated Fairfield Intermediate. Fairfield took an early 0-10 lead before Melville were able to score three tries and take control of the match, winning it 17-15. They then drew with Tokoroa Intermediate 12-12 before finishing the tournament with a win against Te Awa Mutu Intermediate 24-7. We took footage of most of the games and will be releasing the highlights online over the next few days. Well done team!
