Melville Intermediate - Its Friday (by Rebecca Black).

At Y8 singing assembly this week we started learning a new song to sing. Already we've been regularly singing songs by Justin Beiber, now we've just added a new song to the mix, in that on Wednesday we had our first run through 'Friday' by Rebecca Black, some of the students knew the song thanks to all the internet publicity (over 70 million views now) and some students were introduced to it for the first time.

We are very lucky to have a music teacher, Mr Bell who is keen to adapt new and current music for our students to sing. Filmed by Mackenzie from Room Eight, this video was short because it was just a run through. If you still haven't seen the original version of the song yet, here is the video from Youtube:

  1. Hi Mr Webb and Room 8
Your class picture in the header of your blog always makes me smile. It is such a fatastic and fun picture.

This is a great wee song. I look forward to seeing your video post of your class or school singing this. I am sure that it's going to be excellent.

  2. This song drives me INSANE! We are about to start work on a medley of the most irriatating and catchy songs from the last 2 years. So far we are in the brainstorming stage with songs like Baby (Bieber), Friday, Hey Soul Sister, I Like it Like That (Guy Sebastian), Party in the USA... should be interesting!
