Melville Intermediate- Science Experiment - 5 Months!



Hello my name is Leigh. Five months ago we made some sandwiches in our classroom on the 25th of February. We put them in plastic bags and left them to mould. We did this to see which ones would mould first. There were five bags. We named the bags with the ingredients (Marmite, Jam, Margarine, Bread) and the names of who made them. We are still continuing with the experiment.

    Hmmm...sounds as though you're going to find something very disgusting! We did a similar experiment last year but only left the food for 2 weeks - that was quite enough!! :-(

    The thing that the students are finding the most interesting is that Marmite is having the least amount of mould! It's the bread by itself that's got the most mould!
