Melville Intermediate - New Zealand Vs. Italy
This morning we have had New Zealands most significant ever Soccer/Football result with a 1-1 draw with reigning World Champions Italy. It means New Zealand now have a chance of advancing through to the next stage if they beat Paraguay in their last pool game this week. Because of time difference the game kicked off at 2am here in New Zealand but it was a thrilling result for the national team. Dear Mr. Webb and Room 8,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to "The All Whites" and to all of New Zealand! I watched the whole game and it was very exciting. The last 30 minutes were intense, as Italy was attacking ferociously. But The All Whites held them off and even had an attack or two of their own. What a great result!
Best of luck against Paraguay. I'll be watching and cheering for New Zealand. (We have a big game of our own this Wednesday against Algeria.)
From,
Mr. Salsich
Dear Mr. Webb and class,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
I must confess, I am not a sports fan. However, I was very excited for New Zealand. For me, I experienced the game through Twitter via my New Zealand friends, thanks to you! It was fun to follow all of the excitement!
Thanks for your kind tweets! I joined in May and am just getting into the whole Twitter thing. It's been fun and educational!
Again, congratulations and good luck against Paraguay!
Your friend,
Mrs. Yollis
Talofa Room 8. I'm so happy to see a post about our awesome All Whites. You are right - our draw with Italy is huge!! The kids at school are buzzing about it too, I hope they will post something soon like you have.
ReplyDeleteGo the All Whites!
