Melville Intermediate - A very special award
We've received a very, very special award for our class work here at Melville Intermediate School. We've received special recognition from the Human Rights Commission of New Zealand. The award is specifically for our work for Maori Language and Maori Language Week (where we're also listed as a resource on the official Maori Language Week Facebook Page).
We're thrilled with this wonderful official recognition for our students work - a big thank you to all those classrooms from New Zealand and around the world that have allowed us to share the students culture with them and contributed video footage and Skyped with us. You can see all of this work linked from the 'pages' section of this blog in the top right hand corner.
This acknowledgment will be publicised in the official monthly e-newsletter On the Bright Side, Positive Contributions to Race Relations, with commentary.
Given that this week is officially Maori Language Week the timing of this award couldn't be more special, and we will be sharing this with the students tomorrow. A reminder to all of our visitors that if you would like to Skype with our tutors (Mackenzie and Hayze) they are available, just leave us a comment on this post with your contact information or email our teacher at myles.webb@gmail.com.
Congratulations!!! Keep up good work!
