The Tahitian section was taught by O'Shaan Fletcher which was really fun and it was taught in term 3. The first item was called Fakateretere and the second item was called Te Tamamaohi. It is a dance that expresses your feelings. The Tahitian section is really fun because you will experience the exciting parts of dancing. Written by Hossana.

Melville Intermediate - Big Day Out 2013

The Melville Intermediate Big Day Out Trip for 2013 took place on Wednesday 4th December with nearly a hundred and ninety students making the trek to Rainbows End theme park in Auckland for the day.  While the weather was unfortunatly against us the students had a great time, some of who had never been before.   This writing is part of recounts written by students who were on the trip.

'We left Melville Intermediate at 8:05am in Go Buses and we arrived about 10:00am.  After waiting fifteen minutes in the bus we got to get a band then we had to do to the El Dorado area and get ticked off the roll.  Then we got to go on any rides that we wanted.  I went on the Fearfall first - it was exciting.  Then I went on the Powersurge and it was very fun. Next I went onto the Roller Coaster and that was awesome.   We went and brought American Hot Dogs for $5.50, they were delicious.    I went on the Powersurge again.   I went on the Invader again, then it was time to go, which was sad but also cool.  Abridged recount written by Daniel from Room Five.  This video is of the Powersurge at Rainbows End, Daniels favourite ride.  It was processed and edited by Drustan from Room Five.

On Wednesday 4th of December some students from Melville Intermediate School went to Rainbows End.   The first ride that I went on was the bumper boats with Damien, Levi and Blake.  We played a game of bumper boat tag but it didn't really work out so we just crashed into anyone that got in our way.    The next thing I went on was the bumper cars.  They were really fun.    I just kept crashing into random people.    The third ride that I went on was the Gold Rush.   This was my favourite ride'
Abridged recount written by Nathan G from Room Five.

Melville Intermediate - Nathan H's 2013 Reflections

As part of our review of 2013 students from Room Five are reuired to write a recount that features a 'First Impressions' introduction and a 'Last Impressions' conclusion.  Intermediate School in New Zealand is a Middle School that runs from Y7 to Y8 (usually 11 to 13 years).  This is Nathan H's recount of his two years at Melville Intermediate and two years in Room Five.

Last year we had a thing called activity week where students had a choice to do an activity for 3 days but you must pay. I choose film making with a couple of my friends it cost $20.00. In this activity you had to make a movie we all decided on zombies. In the end our movie failed.

Finally all this preparation has come down to this Melville Intermediate Schools Prep 2013! Our groups name was Sizzling Hot and our main product was sausages. The following people helped contribute in our group Nathan.G, Kane, Damien, Levi and me. Over all we made the most MISMS in the school but we didn’t win anything because we were in a separate competition.

My favourite tech from last year was Wood Work. We made bird houses the reason it is my favourite tech is because I had my friends with me they would help me if I needed help. Plus the machines were fun to use. Also I learnt a lot about different types of wood.

At the start of the year Melville Intermediate had a Syndicate Camp. The first impression I had of the camp it was a bit dirty but then I got used to it; the downside was the Burma trail wasn’t scary! My favourite experience at camp was the canoe ride down the Waikato River.

Last year we had an awesome group of activities called options. Options were like modules but you got to choose what option you were in. I choose ICT which was computer work MR. Webb was the teacher he taught us how to use widgets. Widgets are little mini game on sites I done mine about Pac man and we had a tournament to see who could get the most points I came a close 2nd Levi came 1st.
In the end I hope this school has as much to offer as it can because in 2 years time my little brother will be attending this school so I hope he will get the full experience of Melville Intermediate.

Melville Intermediate - Choir perform @ Forrest Lake

We were geting ready for our performance at Forrest Lake School.  I  saw some of my friends there and Cody went up and said the choir perform now.  I was too scared to go up because I saw some of teachers smiling at me.   I saw some of the faces that I knew from when I was at the school.   I felt good performing infront of my old school and after that we finished and there were many performances but the performances that I enjoyed was two boys that sang, Liam and Raven.

After that one of the teachers came up and spoke and said thanking us for coming.  The school sang us a Waiata to us.

This is footage of the Choir singing Hine E Hine from Forrest Lake School.  Recount by Viliame from Room Five.
